A New Phase

In the "5 Months" post we celebrated Adaline's new chair that hooks onto the counter and lets her be with us while we eat. We thought it was the greatest investment yet. And it has been great but now we've started a new phase in life. Eating solids is proving to be one of the messiest challenges yet. And the chair we bought for her is taking the brunt of the damage.

Her favorite food is probably baked sweet potato fries. But she has been on an avocado binge for several days now. Sometimes we've given her an apple slice and she will gnaw dozens of little teeth holes with her only two teeth. A few other things she's tried are (and how much she has approved): peaches (2/10), broccoli (6/10), little cereal puffs (7/10), bananas (sometimes 3/10, sometimes 8/10) and foods below.

black beans (9/10)

(rice cakes 7/10)

red bell pepper (8/10)

She even helps put away the groceries!

It means extra mess and extra prep and more dishes. But it's actually a blast to introduce Adaline to all of the fun flavors that we enjoy nearly everyday with hardly a second thought.

7 Months

Eeek! My baby is almost 8 months and I am just now writing down about her 7th month of life. Sadly, her 7 month pictures were taken just a few days ago too. Life has been crazy, but we have been sure enjoying summer.

A few favorite memories of Adaline's achievements before she hit that 7 month mark are below.

Rolling over in the bath.
This is significant because bathtime just got a little bit more crazy. Adaline is all over in the tub now and she continues to splash and play.

Playing with vacuum hose.
This sounds slightly gross but don't worry as the hose is now put away. The extension hose was in the living room instead of being put in the closet and one day she maneuvered her way over and started yelling in it which of course enhanced the volume of her voice and muffled it a bit. She later found the extension and continued to talk into it with a grin.

Raspberries.
The girl can attack my face with raspberry kisses, but since the Mr. has a beard she has not had any opportunities to slather his face with kisses. One day Mr. Bluth was in the shower with Adaline and he received his first raspberry kiss on his shoulder. The Mr. was more than a little excited that he was finally graced with this token of love.

(These monthly pictures also got a lot more difficult, because Adaline is crawling all over and can't sit still!)
